Important: Manufacturer's guarantee does not cover device’s malfunctions caused by mechanical damage, improper installation, or exploitation for purposes or under conditions not provided by User and Installation Manual. Keep in mind please that Installation Manual and Connection Diagram can not serve you as good as professional skill of the device installer. We recommend you to apply for service of professional people for thermostat and heating system installation. Ask qualified electrician to perform all connections and power networking of the device. Switch off power before connecting wiring to thermostat or it’s disconnecting for device testing.

Introduction

Congratulations! Having chosen the I•WARM thermostat you enter into the world of electric underfloor heating comfort, coziness and user friendliness. The I•WARM 710 device opens new series of Orange Box room thermostats that inherent features are high reliability, easy adjustment, simple display, and modern design. All our intention is to make your home heating extremely comfortable, cozy, simple and energy saving. Make pleasure of using it!

Please study this manual carefully before you install the device!

Basic functions

The I•WARM 710 thermostat is designed for electrical Under floor heating systems (heating mats or sections).

The device automatically keeps the temperature you have set basing on data receiving from floor mounted temperature senor (included in the delivery set). Both real floor temperature and its desired value you have preset are displayed. Or on your desire, air temperature in the room can be displayed measured by the device’s built in sensor. Continuous self diagnostics is provided, warning messages being displayed. Manual heating control mode can be activated in case of sensor malfunction, when heating must continue till the problem is solved.

Start up of heating system control

The thermostat can be turned on after wiring is finished and all connections tested.

Important: Don’t turn new built heating system on before the end of the period recommended by the manufacturer of dry mortars for complete fastening of tile fixing mixture or

Cement sand mortar layer. Earlier heating system turn on can lead to damage of floor decorative cover and heating mats or sections outage. In the case of doubt contact your dealer or heating system manufacturer.

thermostat LED display

LED display with lighting and three control buttons are located on the front panel of the thermostat.

To turn on the electric under floor heating through the thermostat on/off press the central button (I/MODE) and hold it for not less than three seconds.

The display gets lighted and basic device’s screen appears. Great figures show current floor temperature and the figures in upper right corner – the preset floor temperature for keeping. You can change the preset temperature by pressing «+» button to increase it and «_» button for decrease.

Controls and display

1. Current floor temperature (°С)

2. Preset floor temperature for keeping (°С)

3. Heating system is powered

4. Attention sign (see details on page 11)

5. «+» button for keeping temperature increase

6. «I/MODE» button for device turn ON/OFF and temperature indication mode change

7. «_» button for keeping temperature decrease

When heating system is powered, the appropriate sign indicating heating system ON condition is displayed. When the thermostat turns heating off the sign disappears.

Air temperature display mode

The thermostat can display air temperature in your room instead of floor temperature (default mode). At that the device continues heating control never mind the display mode.

To switch the thermostat to air temperature display mode you should press briefly the central knob (i/MODE). Great figures now display air temperature, at that the sign (fig.3) appears informing that the device is switched to this mode. To return to floor temperature indication mode, press the I/MODE button once more. The sign disappears.

Adjustment of built in air temperature sensor indication

Air temperature indicated by the built in sensor can slightly vary from the real room temperature because of small heat output inside the device case.

You can correct this difference by input of real room temperature measured by your thermometer.

We recommend to make this correction not earlier than after two hours of continuous operation of the thermostat.

For adjustment of built in temperature sensor indication you should:

1. Switch the device to air temperature indication mode if other mode was used.

2. Press «+» and «_» knobs simultaneously and hold them for not less than 3 seconds.

At that great figures showing current air temperature are flashing and sign (fig.4) appears indicating sensor indication adjustment mode.

Pressing «+» and «_» buttons set the indicating current temperature equal to the temperature showing by your room air thermometer. At that the appropriate data shift is displaying in the top right corner of the screen.

Having finished adjustment you can exit this mode by simultaneous pressing of «+» and «_» buttons and holding them for not less than 3 seconds. The device leaves this mode automatically after 40 seconds since the last pressing of any button.

Control of electric under floor heating system operating condition

The I•WARM thermostat permanently controls operating condition of the heating system. If heating of floor surface to the preset temperature appears to be impossible “ATTENTION” sign is displayed. The thermostat permanently controls operability of the sensor of temperature. In case of its malfunction (cut off of

Short circuiting of connecting wires) normal operation of heating system is impossible. The thermostat turns heating off and displays warning message (fig.5).

You should contact the manufacturer or your local dealer to repair or replace the sensor of temperature.

Manual heating control mode (emergency mode)

In case of temperature sensor outage the thermostat turns heating off. If the electric under floor heating of the room is still required (if that

for example, basic heating system and season is cold), it is possible to control heating manually for a time period till the sensor function is restored. To switch to this mode press «+» and «_» buttons simultaneously and hold them for not less than 15 seconds.

At that sign (fig.6) indicating manual control mode is displayed and great figures are showing the percent of installed

power consuming by the heating system on the average. You can adjust this percent pressing «+» and «_» buttons, the changes you are made are reflected in displayed value.

I•WARM 710 Installation manual

Important: Switch off power before connecting or disconnecting wiring to thermostat. A qualified electrician to current Indoor Electrical Equipment regulations must install all wiring; failure to do so may invalidate the warranty. We strongly recommend NOT to install the thermostat in premises with high air humidity. It is prohibited to install the device in bathrooms, saunas, shower cubicles, pools. The thermostat controlling heating in these premises must be installed in neighboring dry room. Please study this manual completely before starting the Installation.

Tools and materials required for thermostat installation:

1. Corrugated plastic tube not less than 16mm in diameter; the length depends on distance between the thermostat and the heating unit.

2. Standard plastic junction box for wall mounting units

3. Screwdriver

4. Phase voltage indicator

Installation of floor mounting temperature sensor

Floor temperature sensor is installed when you perform your electric under floor heating element (mat or cable section) installation.

Place the sensor in the corrugated plastic tube near its end, and seal this end of the tube to prevent penetration of water, tile fixing mixture or cement mortar in the course of heated floor arrangement. The tube containing the temperature sensor must be located at the same level as the heating cable between two neighboring passes of this cable. Place the tube in preliminarily prepared grove in the floor and lead its other end to the place chosen for thermostat or junction box location. Cut off excessive tube length at sight.

Installation of the thermostat

Preparation of electrical connections.

Install plastic junction box into the wall where location of the thermostat is planned. Lead to the box power supply cable, cold leads of the heating mat or section, temperature sensor cable. Power the supply cable on and find the phase wire using phase indicator; mark this wire.

Power the cable off.

All thermostat connection work must be performed only when power network is completely disconnected.

Connect all required wires to the thermostat using its terminals with screw fastening.

If you have two wire power network (without earthing conductor) use the connection diagram showed on fig.9. Heating cable screen is connected to zero (Neutral) wire of the network, to the terminal № 5.

If you have three wire power network (with separate earthing conductor) use the connection diagram showed on fig.10. Heating cable screen is connected to the earthing

conductor of the network by means of external terminal block (included in the delivery set), by screw fastening.

Installation of the thermostat

Firs of all disassemble the thermostat. Take off the front cover, for that by thin screwdriver carefully press in turn the locks located on upper and lower sides of the front cover, pulling it slightly out (fig. 11). Remove the cover (fig.12). Remove the frame (fig.13).
